Spring on the Farm
PRODUCE BARN
The barn used to house the produce business is actually a converted tobacco barn. All of the Gross siblings worked in tobacco while growing up and vividly remember filling this barn on numerous occasions.
In the spring of 2000, the strawberry field was planted and a shelter was added to each side of the former tobacco barn. At this time, produce grown at Gross Farms was made available to the public for the first time.
STRAWBERRY PATCH
Gross Farms begins the produce season every year in April by opening the gate to the pick-your-own strawberry patch. Folks come from near and far to savor the fragrant smell and pick their own juicy berries.
If you're in a hurry but want to purchase fresh strawberries, you may stop in and choose from the abundance of fresh berries picked early each morning.
